This is a 5 day/4 night stay for all Cub Scouts
and their dens. The program revolves around the four
themed villages created to provide the most exciting
camp experience possible for our Cub Scouts.
- Fort Akela will provide a good location for
Scouts to learn things like dyeing clothes,
making candles and leather pouches, and even
lasso a steer! Cubs can drift down to the
corral for an evening campfire to sing some
old frontier songs.
- USS Cradle of Liberty where Cubs will learn
to hoist sails and navigate by the stars
while singing the sailing songs of old. The
high seas adventure is sure to turn any
landlubber into the best of mates on the
salty seas.
- Native American Village features authentic
teepees to sleep in, and an authentic "Long
House" for eating and activities. Cubs will
learn leathercraft and beading, track wild
animals the old Indian way. They will take
part in Native American games that will
improve their agility and strength. A chance
to experience what life was like for our
American ancestors.
- Safeguard Castle where Cub Scouts will be
able to take part in jousting tournaments,
learn to juggle like the court jester, and
make royal coats of arms to wear around the
castle. They will learn to draw a bow like
Robin Hood and drink root beer like Friar
Tuck. Cubs will assemble at the castle
amphitheater to be mesmerized by the tales
of the wise old soothsayer.
To make your time with your son in camp
complete, a prepared barbecue awaits you and your
family. The camp staff at Garrison is well trained
to give you a taste of Summer Camp. So come on and
test the best! Take a break and complete the treat,
see your son have some fun. Family Barbecue Dinner
tickets are $ 7 per person and are held on Wednesday
evenings. Reservations for the Barbecue Dinners may
be made at Camp on check-in day.
The session runs from Sunday through Thursday.
The cost is $ 155 per Cub per session ($ 130 if the
balance is paid on or before May 23, 2002).
