Boy Scout Troop 78 - Woxall, PAPerformance GuidelinesSince EVERY boy in the troop holds a leadership position it is very important that EVERY boy attends EVERY troop meeting. The troop CANNOT operate efficiently if the youth leaders are absent. We work on advancement at every event, whether it is a troop meeting or an outing, and if a boy misses the meeting or outing he will miss out on the advancement being taught at that event. Every meeting or outing has a specific purpose in the overall scheme of things. It is also very important that everyone arrive for the meetings on time. The troop CANNOT operate efficiently if the key leaders are late. If a boy is chronically late they may not get credit for attendance which will affect their eligibility for advancement. The troop meetings start promptly at 1900 hours (7:00 PM) so everyone should arrive no later than 1845 hours (6:45 PM) in order for the meeting to start promptly at 1900 hours (7:00 PM). The troop meetings are scheduled to end at 2030 hours (8:30 PM) but when the boys waste time and go off subject the meeting may run past 2030 hours (8:30 PM). The boys are completely in control of how long the meeting runs. We have items that we MUST cover at every meeting if the troop is to operate efficiently. It is important to make sure your son realizes that when they don't listen, mis-behave, goof around, cause distractions, or otherwise act in a disruptive manner the meetings WILL last longer thereby making the parents wait longer when they arrive to pick them up.
